Capital One Bank complaint by Royphil345
Had $15,000.00 in a Capital One internet savings account. Forgot the answer to one of the annoying security questions that pops up in order to access my account. Question was what street I lived on in 3rd grade. I'm getting rather old and we moved around a lot... No alternate question was offered. A screen appeared that my account was disabled and there was a number to call.

I called the number that appeared on the screen. Gave them my name, account number, birthday, SS#, called from my home phone, etc...

Then they said I would have to answer questions based on public record in order to access my account. They wanted personal information about my brother's ex-wife (divorced 5 years ago)!!! They wanted to know where she lived. I said "How the *** would I know and why would I tell you if I did???!!!"... "Sorry sir, if you're going to talk to me like that I can't help you." It was about the only thing she said that I heard clearly. Everything else sounded like she had marbles in her mouth and I had to ask her to repeat many things, some of which I still couldn't decode. I think you know what I said next, starts with an F and ends with a you...

Later, I remembered the answer to the security question. Account wasn't disabled as they claimed. Transferred all the money out of Capital One. This is how they intend to survive the banking crisis??? Not on my money...

I agree, Capital One Bank worse bank I have ever dealt with--they play more assine games with passwords that can drive you crazy. And you are talking to robots when you talk to their reps. Veribanc Ratings is currently (July 08) giving them a "yellow 1 star" rating. Not Good. Make sure you're FDIC covered.
